Walter Robert Lott

On Tuesday, May 2, 2023 Walter Robert Lott, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Dryden, New York, passed away at the age of 86.

Walt was born December 9, 1936 in Troy, New York. He graduated from Lansingburgh High School and joined the Air Force, proudly serving for 20 years. After his service, Walt worked in both flooring and automotive sales. On September 14, 1968 he married Sylvia Millick and together they raised four sons, Troy, Eric, Dave, and Steve.

One of Walter’s biggest passions in life was sports. A three sport athlete in high school, he spent many of his later years coaching, watching, or playing with his sons and grandchildren. Through his coaching, he impacted many lives. Even in retirement, Walt could always be found at Walden Oaks Golf Course or at home in his recliner watching his beloved New York Yankees and Syracuse Orangemen.  His passion for athletics was surpassed only by the love he had for his family.  As a husband and father, no one worked harder or sacrificed more to support and provide for his family. His work ethic, sacrifice, love and support will never be forgotten.

Walter is survived by Sylvia, his wonderful wife of 54 years, as well as his children Troy (fiancée Janina) Lott, Eric (Jamie) Lott, David (Billi-Jo) Lott, and Steven Lott;  grandchildren Evan (Jessica) Lott, Craig, Samantha, Sophia, Audrina, Anabella, Brooklynn, and Hayden; sister in-law Kathleen (Joseph) Lasich. Walter is predeceased by his mother Marguerite, first wife Patricia, and daughter in-law Evelyn.

Calling hours will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, New York. A private burial ceremony will be held with immediate family. The Lott family will be forever grateful to the caring staff at Ithaca Hospicare.
