Vy Ngin Merritt

Vy Ngin Merritt, aged 62, of Ithaca, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. 

She was born on July 8 1961, in Battambang, Cambodia, to parents Sareth Ngin and Seua Thiv. Vy was an incredibly talented hair stylist and salon owner, who had a passion for beautifying her clients, and conversing with the students. She also had an accomplished career at Cornell University, from where she retired in May of 2022. 

She is survived by her three children, Julian Merritt, Mariadis Merritt, and Julie Merritt; her siblings, Mao Guenther of South Carolina, Srey Teteak of Texas, and Sarith Ngin of South Carolina.

We pray you’re in Heaven, laughing, dancing and sharing stories with your parents, while smiling down on us until we meet each other again.
