Thomas K. Drake

Thomas K. Drake, 65 of Freeville, NY passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, on November 18, 2021. He was the son of the late Wayne W. Drake and Anna Marie (Scranton) Drake. He was a 1974 graduate of Dryden High School. Tom worked in the construction business for 30+ years and then as Building and Maintenance Coordinator for Stafford Chevrolet and CFCU until his retirement in 2018. Tom was an avid outdoorsman (hunting and fishing), gardening, or playing on his tractor. He was a talented craftsman always building a piece of furniture, tinkering in his garage, woodshop or somewhere on the property. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great uncle and friend who will be sorely missed by everyone. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Diana L. (Woodard) Drake; daughters Alicia M. (Drake) Caswell and Hilary A. Drake, grandchildren, Dylan Caswell and Bryan Chandler, sisters Sharon Coffin of West Melbourne, FL, Beatrice “Bea” (George Sr.) Ingalls, sisters-in-law Kay Drake, Dolores (Tom) Pendell, Barbara (Dan) Hunt, Debra (Edward) Bryden, cousin Donald (Claudia) Maynard of Medina, OH, niece in law, Dariele Drake; special nephews, William Jr. “Billy” (Kendra) Drake Jr., George Jr. “GW” (Lynnsey) Ingalls, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers Wayne Jr., Stewart (Ellene), Albert, and sister, Dawn and special nephew William “Bill” D. Drake Sr. He was also predeceased by his in-laws Philip C. and Joyce I. (Alcott) Woodard.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-5:30 pm on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with a service to follow at 5:30 pm with Pastor Sam Neno officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY or Cancer Resource Center, 612 W. State St., Ithaca, NY  14850.
