Robert C. Earl

Robert C. Earl, 80, of Harford, New York, passed away on April 18th surrounded by his loved ones after a six-year battle with prostate cancer. 

Bob was born to Charles and Jennie Earl on April 28th, 1943, in Ithaca, New York. After graduating from Dryden High School in 1962, he served in the US Army. He was a member of the 25th Infantry Division Artillery, serving in the Vietnam War. Bob worked at Stafford’s in Dryden and Agway in Cortland, and his entrepreneurial ventures with Bob Earl's Garage and Sugarbush Country Store in Harford. He concluded his career days in the mail room at Ithaca College. Bob's community involvement extended to his time as Assistant Virgil Fire Chief. Then, moving to Harford, he served on the Town Board and was a Lifetime member of the Harford Fire Department, where he once was Fire Chief. Bob enjoyed his retirement years wintering in Palmetto, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Evelyn, daughters Christina Loiselle and Cynthia (Jeff) Saunders; step-children Michelle (Edward) Morse, Patti (John) VanDeWeert, and Steven (Suzie) Tottey; grandchildren Christa, Jessika, Samantha, Louis, Lauren, Jonathan, William, Isaac, Judd, Layla, Colton, and great-grandchildren; brother, John (Chip) Earl and sister-in-law Mildred Earl. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Canfield, Barbara Foster, and Jane Salino, and a brother, William Earl. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Etna Community Church followed by a Celebration of Bob’s Life at the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home, 2272 Dryden Rd., Dryden.
