Arlene Belle (Shevalier) Doty

Arlene Belle Doty, 92 of Lansing, NY passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at Groton Community Health Care Facility.

Born May 9, 1930 in Ellis Hollow, NY she was one of eight children born to John Casey and Edna Cranmer Shevalier. She was employed with Smith Corona prior to retirement. Arlene was a member of the Varna Church and Lansing, Groton and King Ferry Senior Citizens. She enjoyed many of the activities and trips with those groups.

Arlene is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth (Edwin) Sill, Donna (Larry Sill) Doty and Rose Canavan all of Lansing; grandchildren, Kristina VanDerWerf (Rob), Jeffrey Sill (Erin), Yvonne Sims (Derek), Joseph Vallely, Stephanie Andres (Jose`), Jennifer Canavan (Eric) and Joshua Canavan; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her son, Archie Doty III, her husband, Archie Doty, grandson, Shane Michael Meyer and all seven of her siblings, John (Dot) Shevalier, Leon (Betty) Shevalier, Helen (Alfred) Cornell, Norman (Margaret) Shevalier, Beverly (Frank) Morgan, Nathan (Verble) Shevalier and Rosella Sears.

There will be a Memorial Service at 3 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Varna Church, 965 Dryden Rd. (Route 366), Varna, NY with Pastor Dr. Jeff Losey officiating. A celebration will follow at the Varna Community Center. Burial will be in North Lansing Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Groton Community Health Care Facility, Recreation Fund, 120 Sykes St., Groton, NY 13073.
