William H. Rich, Sr., age 77, of 386 Shaffer Road, Newfield, NY formerly of Caroline Center died Monday, September 10, 2012 at Cayuga Medical Center.Born March 18, 1935 at home in the Town of Caroline, he is the son of the late Clifford and Violet Bonney Rich and husband of the late Shirley Lajza Rich who died in 1992.
He was employed as a plumber with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #267 prior to his retirement.Bill is survived by his children, William H. Rich, Jr. (Bonnie) of Odessa, NY, Lois Rich of Brooktondale, NY and Paula Neff (Pete) of Newfield, NY; grandchildren, William Joseph Rich, Misty Rich, Shannon Rich, Jennifer Rich (Jerry Cornell), Kathryn Rich, Amber Neff and Mia Goyette; great grandchildren, Adriana Rich, Zachary Cornell, Bailea Cornell and Logen Bogart; his sister, Patricia Liddington of Newark Valley, NY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brother, Clifford Rich and Maude Overbaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Caroline Center Church, Buffalo Road, Caroline Center, with Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Charles Mulks Cemetery, Slaterville Springs. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
