Wayne Randall Jennings was 90 years old when he passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2026. He passed surrounded by his wife and children.
Wayne was born in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Joyce (Willis) and Leslie Jennnings.
He was raised in Ithaca, NY by his grandparents. He was a true Fall Creeker and proud of it.
Wayne was a graduate of Ithaca High School. He retired from NYSEG after many years of service.
He was a member of the Navy Reserves, and a member of the Ithaca Moose club for many years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed golfing and pitched horseshoes. Wayne coached youth baseball for many years and loved watching baseball and watching Football. He LOVED his Yankees!
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Wayne and Lorraine spent 23 winters in Frostproof, FL. They had many friends over the years at Camp Inn where they had a winter home. They loved to travel and traveled all over the United States.
He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine (Carlisle) Jennings of 70 years, his children Laurie (Clint) Pullen of Groton, NY, Sheri (Mark) Giardina of Greenville, PA and Kevin ( Diana) Jennings formerly of Newfield, NY; Grandchildren Nicole (Rob) Ellis, Greg (Kristen) Pullen, Neil (Rikki) Giardina, Andy (Angela) Giardina, Sarah (Ross) Grieco, Aimee (Tom) Grover, Steven (Heather) Jennings and Michelle Jennings; Great-grandchildren Kyle Ellis, Madison Pullen, Giovanni and America Grace Giardina, Cayden Chaffee and Camila Grover, Brady, Olivia, Wyatt and Nolyn Jennings and one great-great-grandson, Indy Greico. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Glazier of Cortland NY, half-sisters Audrey, Pat and Fran, half-brothers Nelson and Bob, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Wayne's family would like to thank all of the staff at The Cayuga Medical Hospital in Ithaca and Guthrie Medical in Cortland. Your care and compassion to Wayne and to his wife and children was above high standards. Your are a special group of caregivers and all you did is greatly appreciated.
Most of all, Wayne was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather who will be greatly missed. God took an amazing man home. We love and miss you.
