Irene Andersen, age 78, of Anchor Dr., Ithaca, NY passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Cayuga Medical Center.
Born August 31, 1938 in Binghamton, NY she was the daughter of the late Myron V. and Wilma Castleberry Stalker. Irene had been employed with Marietta Corp. in Cortland, NY for several years and had been a waitress and bartender for several establishments.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Barbara "Bobbi" Sprague-Kirchner of Ithaca, NY and Deborah Reilly of Greene, NY; 10 grandchildren including Chuck Sprague of Ithaca, NY; brother, Thomas Stalker of TX; sisters, Rose Ward of Castle Creek, NY and Joy Stalker of Whitney Point, NY and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At her request there will not be any formal services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tompkins County SPCA, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
