Susan Iglthaler passed away peacefully at the Hospicare residence on September 24th, 2025.
Susan was the daughter of Jane Ruth and Marshall Wood. Besides being predeceased by her parents, she is also predeceased by her nephew, Carl Iglthaler.
Susan was a devoted wife to her husband George and mother to her children, Jennifer and Jake (Abby Landon). Susan is also survived by her niece Rebecca Hunter and her two children Kade and Emily who she utterly adored, as well as her nephew Taylor Perosio and nieces Deborah Ogden and Dawn Conahan.
Susan retired from a long nursing career that included time in a Veterans Administration hospital following the Vietnam War and Hospicare and Palliative Care of Tompkins County where she provided home care for 20 years.
Susan enjoyed traveling with George in their camper, crafting, and spending time with her dogs.
Susan was an unwavering support for her family and friends, always putting everyone else first and jumping in to help in any way. She taught her children to always do the same.
Susan’s family is incredibly grateful to the personalized and compassionate care received at the Hospicare residence where she spent her last two days and was embraced as one of their own.
Susan’s family would also like to thank Hannah Potts from the Cayuga Cancer Center and the infusion team, especially nurses Erica and Julie, for their advocacy and emotional support over the past year.
Calling hours for Susan will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30th at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY from 4:00 - 6:00pm, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00.
