Shirley A. Stone

Shirley A. (Genung) Stone of Harford/Ithaca, NY died on September 8, 2026 at the age of 95 in Hospicare.

Born on March 10, 1931 in Ithaca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel Genung.

She married Douglas W. Stone Jr. (predeceased) on November 5, 1952 in Kentucky.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, having BBQs, shopping, and decorating her house for Halloween. She was a good-hearted person with a sense of humor. She liked game shows, word search books and romance novels.

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas W. Stone Jr. (2003), sons Douglas W. Stone III (2023) and Robert Stone ( 2026), parents Ralph and Ethel Genung, sister Barb Deprino and brother William Genung.

She is survived by daughters Robin Biasillo of Maine, NY and Cheryl (James Condon) Miller of Waltham, MA; daughter-in-law Carol Stone of Harford, NY; son David (Sue) Stone of Newfield, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, one can choose to donate to Hospicare of Ithaca or an Alzheimer's organization.
