Shirley Lorraine Berger French
, 85, of Ithaca, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Cayuga Ridge on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012.
Born to Tina and Neil Berger on November 16, 1926, Shirley was raised in the Ithaca area where she attended and graduated from Dewitt High School. She was passionate about her family, friends and her many cats, and spent some of her free time volunteering at Cayuga Medical Center as a receptionist.
Predeceased by her sister, Betty J. Day on January 3rd, 2008, she is survived by her ex-husband, Lloyd French Sr., four children, Donna Gotshall, of Milton, PA, Randy (Valerie) French of Ithaca, NY, Terry French of Ithaca NY, and Lloyd “Rusty” (Dorothy) French Jr. of Newfield NY; Six grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) French of Trumansburg, NY, Jason French of New York, NY, Randy (Karen) French of Locke, NY, Shelly (Ronnie) Caveney of Trumansburg, NY, John Perry of Ithaca, NY, and Lorraine (Michael) Nemire of Trumansburg, NY, as well as numerous great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY, with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Shirley’s family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM, Friday, at the Perkins funeral home.
