ROLAND VERN WALKER,
age 59, of West Main Street, Dryden, NY passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca after a long illness. Roland was born April 8, 1951 at Cortland a son of the late Robert Walker, Sr. and Frances Barrows Walker. He attended Dryden High School and on May 17, 1969 was married to the former Denise Rose Reagin. He was employed at Borg Warner for 40 ½ years as a machine operator. Known as “Ron”, he enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing the lawn, watching his grandchildren race 4 wheelers and living life to its fullest.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, “Denny” Walker of Dryden, his children, Kathleen (Michael) Deeb of Ithaca, Sharon (Douglas) Graham of Richford, Roland (Nikki) Walker, II of Freeville; grandson, Jack Graham and granddaughter, Kimberly Graham; his twin brother, Russell (Jill) Walker of Dryden, brothers Robert (Joyce) Walker of Virgil and Clinton (Shelly) Walker of Dryden; his sisters, Helen Kay Harvey of Telford, PA, Jacqueline (Frank) LaMondie of Cortland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, George Walker in 1991.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Moseley officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
