Robert G. Cobane

Robert G. Cobane, 56 of Lansing, NY passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Born February 25, 1969 in Ithaca, NY he is the son of Eloise C. Walrad and the late Glenn A. Cobane. Rob attended Ithaca and Dryden Schools and loved the outdoors. He was a Jack of all Trades, especially mechanics. He could tear anything apart and put it back together. He was willing to help anyone and would give the shirt off his back if asked. Rob was an avid fan of wrestling and football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. Most recently, Rob was a prep cook at Greenstar Coop in Ithaca.

Rob is survived by his mother, Eloise C. Walrad of Lansing; his companion, Jessica Meade; his three sons, Dakota (Rachelle) Cobane of Candor, Zachary Cobane (Samantha King) of Dryden, NY and Brandon Cobane of Candor; grandchildren, Kaleb and Decklan Cobane and Greyson Cobane; his sister, Donna (Mason) Gilbert of Brooktondale; nieces and nephew, Nicole and David Gilbert and Megan (Matthew) Truesdail; great niece and nephew, Leola and Lawrence. In addition to his father, Glenn Cobane, he was predeceased by his step father, Howard Walrad.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Rd., Lansing with Rev. Alison Schmied officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lansing Fire Dept., 80 Ridge Rd., Lansing, NY 14882.
