Patricia Carol Ackley

PATRICIA CAROL ACKLEY, age 66, of Highland Crescent, Dryden, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 after an extended battle with cancer. Pat was born Feb. 21, 1950 in Elizabeth, NJ, a daughter of Edward W. Hogan, Sr. of Lincroft, NJ and the late Hilde Leffrang Hogan. She was graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Roselle, NJ and from Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Pat was a member of Holy Cross Church, the Dryden Fire Department, a member of the former Dryden Footlighters and was a High School Swimming Official and Time Keeper. Following the death of their son, Pat and Allen were instrumental in forming the Christopher Ackley Skateboard Park for the local youths. She was active in and assisted with the Junior Fire Fighter Academy that is held during the summer for area youths. Pat was an active member of the community who gave generously of herself. She will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends.
Survivors include her father, Edward Hogan, Sr., her brother, Edward (Lucretia) Hogan, Jr. of Westfield, NJ; her mother-in-law, Katherine Ackley of Dryden; a niece, Laurie (Kevin) McCormack of Westfield; nephews Edward W. (Stephanie) Hogan, III of Westwood, NJ and Jeffrey Hogan of Flanders, NJ and many Ackley, Siedlecki and Artwick nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her son, Christopher Ackley; her husband, Allen W. Ackley and her mother, Hilde Leffrang Hogan.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Holy Cross Church, 375 George Road, Freeville, NY. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM, Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
