Nancy Harrell

Nancy L. Harrell, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home. She was born on January 12, 1940 in Ithaca, New York. 

She was employed at Ithaca College in the Chemistry Department for several years. 

Nancy’s passion was in gardening, dancing and just being outdoors. She was most happy being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and her dogs working at home, creating new beautiful gardens with her husband Oscar close at hand. 

Nancy was a loving, caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Nancy leaves behind her four children; daughter, Lorenda (Bobby) Gneo; sons, Scott Harrell, Randy (Paula) Harrell and Eric Harrell of Greenville, SC. Grandchildren, Vincent (Brenna) and Madison Gneo; Matthew, Nicole (James), Natalie and Hayley Harrell; Lorenda, Lindsey and Noah Harrell; Alissa and Ryan Harrell. Four great grandchildren, Riley, Leo, Callan and Kennedy. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar and granddaughter, Ciara Gneo. The family would like to thank all those who cared for and helped Nancy. Please make donations to the SPCA of Ithaca.
