NANCY ELLEN GLEASON, age 75, of Stone Road, McGraw and formerly of Cortland, passed away Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a two year illness. Born October 1, 1939 in Picture Rocks, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Helen Kaupe Day. Nancy attended Binghamton Schools and on April 4, 1958 was married to Charles W. Gleason who survives. She was employed years ago at Smith Corona before staying home to raise her family. She loved to cook, knit, crochet and fish, work on jigsaw puzzles and watch birds. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Charles W. Gleason of McGraw; her sons, William H. (Sheila) Gleason of Simpson, LA, Tarry L. (Holly) Gleason of Freetown, Rick S. Gleason of Marathon and Mark C. (Teresa) Gleason of Cortland and her daughter, Mary E. (Ronald) Stanley of Marathon; sixteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Presley Noel Gleason.
Memorial service will be held at 7 PM, Friday, May 8th 2015 at the Marathon Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Boice officiating. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 7 PM, Friday at the church.
