Michael E. (Mike) Olsefski

Michael E. Olsefski, age 67 passed away on October 3, 2024 at home in Brooktondale, in the arms of his loving wife of 31 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mike was born May 2, 1957 in Ithaca, to Leo and Lydia (Supek) Olsefski and was raised in Brooktondale, graduating Ithaca High School, class of 1975. After high school Mike started a woodworking business. He also worked at P&C in the East Hill Plaza for 8 years and then he started his auto accessory and trailer business. He was four months short of 40 years, owning and operating Mike Olsefski’s Auto Accessories, which he truly loved.

Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen L. (Genung) Olsefski; his sister, Marge Dean of Spencer; brother, James (Carol) Olsefski of Trumansburg; sisters in law, Linda Weaver, Janet (Steve) Nash of Brooktondale, and Nancy Genung of Jamestown; brother in law, Will Genung of Richford; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friend and brother by choice, Ron Davenport and his fur babies. In addition, Mike is predeceased by his parents Leo and Lydia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Augustine Chumo officiating. Burial will be at the Caroline Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church, 113 N. Geneva St. Ithaca, NY 14850 or Caroline Grove Cemetery, c/o Sandra Clary, 3204 Slaterville Rd.
