Marilyn Ann Ward

Marilyn A. Ward, of Moravia, NY, 80, passed away, September 4, 2017. Born July 25, 1937 in Ithaca, NY. She was the daughter of the late Robert Byron and Helen Stroich Cameron, and wife of the late Fred J. Ward who passed in 2009.

Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Julie A. (Scott) Goldberg of Milpitas, CA and Laurie W. (Brad) Clinkingbeard of Lake Geneva, WI ; grandchildren, Jonathan Goldberg, Cameron Clinkingbeard, Bodie Clinkingbeard; her beloved sister, Deanna Cameron of Moravia, NY; nieces and nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by siblings, Jane Boettner and Robert Cameron.

Marilyn grew up in the wonderful woodland of Connecticut Hill outside Newfield, NY. She and her sisters cultivated a love of animals and the outdoors throughout childhood. Marilyn met her beloved husband, Fred at the square dances and they married in 1957. Traveling with her family, growing roses and riding horses with her daughters were some of Marilyn's passions.

Marilyn began her working career at the Ithaca Youth Bureau then became part of the family at Cornell University, as a secretary in the Division of Nutritional Sciences for 31 years. Marilyn developed lifelong friendships at Cornell, as well as enjoying 40 years of Cornell Hockey with her husband, Fred. During retirement she and Fred traveled, played golf, and enjoyed friends and family.

Calling hours will be held from 10 AM -12 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Funeral Services immediately following at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia, NY.
