Lulabel G. Lacey (née Kentch), born November 29, 1934, in Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2026, at the age of 91. Her long and remarkable life touched the hearts of many, leaving a legacy of warmth, dedication, and love.

Lulabel's early years shaped the foundation of her kind and generous spirit. Throughout her journey, she was known for her gentle demeanor, unwavering integrity, and profound care for her family and friends.

After years of devoted service, Lulabel retired from Cornell University in 1989. Her commitment to her work and colleagues left a lasting impression on those she met throughout her career. Known for her diligence and kindness, she made a positive difference in her professional community and beyond.

Family stood at the very heart of Lulabel’s life. She shared a loving marriage with her late husband, Robert M. Lacey, together building a family rooted in compassion and resilience. Lulabel is survived by her cherished daughter, Diane (Clifford L.) Michaud; her beloved brother, Elwyn (Esther) Kentch; and her treasured grandchildren: Tammy (Mark) Wood, Gregory (Tarah) Michaud, Christopher (Connie) Lacey, and Katrina Starks each of whom held a special place in her life.

Lulabel’s memory will be especially held close by those who have felt the embrace of her love. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Robert M. Lacey, as well as her sister Shirley Moore and her son Steven Lacey, whom she always remembered with immeasurable affection.

To honor Lulabel’s memory, a graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Willow Glen Cemetery, 2090 Dryden Road, Freeville, NY. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and is open for those who wish to join in remembrance and gratitude for Lulabel’s life. Immediately following there will be a reception with a meal provided at the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home, 2272 Dryden Rd., Dryden, NY.

Lulabel G. Lacey’s legacy is one of devotion, love, and quiet strength. Those who knew her will forever remember her grace, wisdom, and the gentle mark she left upon the world. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
