Lorna F. Burns, born on March 10, 1937, in Ithaca, New York, peacefully departed this life on November 22, 2025, at Groton Community Health Care. She was a cherished member of her community and a devoted family member, known for her loving spirit and generous heart.
Lorna dedicated many years of her career to the Cortland County Senior Food Service Program, where she served with compassion and care. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her professional life; she was known for her kindness and her willingness to welcome strangers into her home for a meal, embodying the true spirit of hospitality.
A longtime member of Asbury Church, Lorna supported her husband, a survivor of the Chosin Conflict, as he traveled across the country, demonstrating unwavering love and devotion to his service and mission.
In her leisure time, Lorna enjoyed woodworking, sewing, crafting, and often delighted in discovering treasures at yard sales. She embraced her hobbies with creativity and passion, sharing her talents with those around her.
Lorna is survived by her son, Danial (Donna) Hill; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Feint and Vivien Russell Feint, her sons Michael Hill and Larry Hill, and her brother and sister.
A visitation will be held in her honor at Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, New York, on November 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 AM. Lorna will be laid to rest during a burial service at Willow Glen Cemetery.
