was born inNorwood, NY the 10th of eleven children of the late George and Delia Tebo Layaw. He was raised in Norwood, NY and served honorably in the US Army Air Corps in Africa and upon returning home was married to the former C. Jean Sanford of Ithaca who passed away in 1987. Later he was married to Shirley Barber Clark Layaw who passed in 2008. Lloyd was employed as a carpenter with Local Union #603 and was a member of the Finger Lakes Post 961, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Moose and Eagles Lodges. He enjoyed remodeling homes, bowling, his two cats, Frisky and Kilroy, music, playing his guitars and organ as well as and reading, especially his extensive collection of Louis L’Amour books.
LLOYD DEAN LAYAW, age 89, of NYS Rt. 222 and formerly Potsdam, Dryden, Etna, NY and Florida passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Cortland Memorial Hospital after lengthy illness.
