In his earlier years, Leland worked on his family’s farm and helped gather sap to make maple syrup. Then, he went on to work as a pin setter at the local bowling alley as well as Agway.

During his spare time, he worked as a mechanic. His love of Mopar cars led him to discover an innate ability to understand and repair complex machinery, a skill that earned him respect and admiration amongst his family and friends. When he wasn’t in his garage, he enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing, socializing with friends, being outdoors, and doing physical activity.

Beyond this, he was an avid traveler, finding joy in visiting unknown places and learning about the history of his destinations. His journeys to such places as Branson, Missouri enriched his life and provided countless stories he shared with family and friends.

He was a fighter, never letting his disease dim his light, and he faced every day with a smile, showing his family the power of resilience.

In his personal life, Leland was a devoted husband, predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth, with whom he shared many cherished years. He is predeceased by his brother, Lowell, and his parents, Ethel and Cecil Craft.

In his later years in McLean, he was a beloved figure in his community and a devoted father who consistently supported and loved his family. He went above and beyond, sacrificing to protect and teach his loved ones about hard work, love, and loyalty.

His surviving children are Scott (Jennifer) Craft Henrietta, NY, Sherry Craft St. Augustine, FL, and Steven Craft Freeville, NY.
