Kenneth R. Conklin II, 61 of Brooktondale, NY passed away on October 1, 2018 at Cayuga Medical Center after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on March 23, 1957 in Elmira to the late Kenneth and Pearl (Frutchey) Conklin.
Ken was a graduate from Horseheads High School Class of 1976. Following high school, he moved to Ithaca where he worked various jobs until he found his “home” at Cornell University where he worked until March due to his health.
He is survived by his son Jeremy (Crystal Kelly) Conklin of Brooktondale, his daughter Meggan (William Lewis Sr.) Conklin of Brooktondale, his companion Honora Vallely of Brooktondale, his sisters Linda (David) Bennett of Elmira, Connie (Eric) Westmiller of Trumansburg, his grandchildren Jeremy Conklin II & Ryder Conklin, his Aunt Judy (Robert) Smith, his Uncle LeRoy Conklin, his pretty kitty Petey, and many family and friends.
“Kenny” was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and would enjoy nothing more then to be on the open road, destination unknown. He shared his passion for 2 wheels with his children and grandchildren. Anyone who had the pure pleasure of coming across this amazing man was sure to be amused by his quick humor and wit. If Ken was nothing more in life, he was the glue that held his family together. His presence as a son, brother, father, grandfather, and partner could never be replaced. He loved his family with everything that he had, and in a way no words could ever describe. It is very clear, he was put here to be a Dad, and anyone who knew him, knew that he was the best at everything he sought to accomplish.
