Jon W. Barned

Jon W. Barned, age 59 of Marathon, NY passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

Born April 2, 1967 in Cortland, NY he was the son of the late Lawrence G. and Mary Horvath Barned. He was a farmer and drove truck for many years. He loved spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and working in the field.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie; sons, Dean (Jade), Christian (Destiny) and Lawrence (Andrea); two grandchildren, Navaya and Oliver, nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Barned.

Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 with an hour of calling from 10-11 am followed by a brief service at 11am at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jon may be made to MCSNY FFA, Marathon Future Farmers of America.
