Joanne C. Showacre

Joanne C. Showacre, age 67 of Ithaca, NY passed away Monday, October 26, 2026 following a lengthy illness.

Born May 25, 1959 in Ithaca, NY she was the only child of the late James Cole Showacre and Edith Ann Willman Showacre. Joanne was a 1977 graduate of Ithaca High School and a 1979 graduate of Cazenovia College. She remained very active in organizing her high school class reunions and found fulfillment in gardening as well as a variety of crafts. Joanne was a great lover of animals, especially her cats.

In addition to her three cats, Joanne is survived by many cousins and many friends.

A graveside service and burial with her parents will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2026 in Frear Memorial Park, 110 Hayts Rd., Ithaca. In lieu of flowers, because of Joanne’s love for animals, please consider a contribution in her memory to the SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
