On the evening of July 25, 2012, Goldie Abb, beloved mother and wife, passed away at the age of 95 in her son’s home in Freeville, NY.
Born as Goldie Hlavsa on September 12, 1916 in Loyalhanna, PA, she was married in Brooklyn, NY, to her sweetheart, Walter Abb. They were married for 57 years spending most of their life in Brooklyn. Goldie had a sharp wit and her colorful humor is fondly remembered by her family. She loved to dance and was an excellent bingo player.
In her early years she enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting and sewing.
She was generous and supportive to her family, and to the very end she kept her sense of humor.
Goldie is survived by her son, Donald Abb of Freeville, NY and her daughter, Carol Schwartz of Venice, FL; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter and four siblings.
