February 22, 1942 - June 7, 2026

Gloria (Holloway) Bowman, 84, of Lansing NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Gloria was one of three children born to the late Ben F. Holloway (Julie) and Betty J. Miller (Warren). In addition to her parents, Gloria was pre-deceased by her first husband Lester Lewis, her second husband David Bowman, and her brothers, Gerald Holloway and David Holloway.

A lifelong Lansing resident, Gloria grew up on a small farm on Ridge Road and attended King Ferry Central School, where she graduated in 1959 with honors. She attended college at Delhi Ag and Tech, worked briefly at Jamesway, then enjoyed a 34 year career with Dairy Records/Animal Sciences in Morrison Hall Cornell University.

Growing up Gloria was very involved with 4-H, as a member and later as a leader for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed reading, flower gardening, cake decorating, including wedding cakes for both children, Christmas baking, crafts, knitting, bird feeding and watching, card games, and a daily Sudoku.

Gloria loved hummingbirds, butterflies, and especially kitties. As a cat lover she had several feline companions over the years and even decorated her guest room with a cat theme.

Highest of all her interests was her family. Gloria's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cheering them on with their sports, having fun playing games, and celebrating special occasions like birthdays and holidays.

Gloria was also a long time member of Asbury Church. She viewed faith as very important for getting through the ups and downs of life. She trusted God for His constant provision and care, and promise of eternal life.

Gloria is survived by her two children, Pamela Tanzola (Chuck, d.2023) and Scott Lewis (Denise), five grandchildren, Joshua (Carey) Tanzola, Austin (Bethany) Lewis, Stephen Lewis, Christina Lewis, Emily Lewis, and seven great-grandchildren, Charlotte Tanzola, Gwen Tanzola, Cooper Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Elena Lewis, Cody Lewis, and Cassidy Lewis. Also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Calling hours will be held at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St. in Dryden, NY on June 21, 2026 from 3pm-5pm. Funeral service will be held at Asbury Church, 2978 N. Triphammer Rd. in Lansing, NY on June 22, 2026 at 1pm. Interment to follow at Ludlowville Pine Grove Cemetery in Lansing.
