Gary Lee Sherman

Gary L. Sherman, age 58, formerly of 2630 South Cortland-Virgil Rd, Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday January 6th at his home in Bradenton, FL following several years of rehabilitation after being injured from a fall in 2014.

Born June 7th, 1963 in Cortland NY, he was the son of Joyce B. Sherman and the late Carl L. Sherman. Gary was a 1980 graduate of Cortland High School and a 1983 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill. He worked as a Master Electrician at Cargill Deicing Technology in Lansing, NY from 2000 up until his accident. He was an avid outdoorsman and a loving father.

Mr. Sherman is survived by his children, Nicollette (Andrew) Lucks of Duanesburg, NY; Grid (Rachel) Sherman of Rome, NY; Austin Sherman of Cortland, NY; Hunter Sherman of Bradenton, FL; his sisters Luanne Swanson of Slate Hill, NY; Lois Sherman of Bradenton, FL; and Laura Bernhardt of Bradenton, FL; his mother Joyce B. Sherman of Bradenton, FL; a grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY with Rev. Steph Brown officiating. Friends may call from 2-3 pm prior to the service. Private burial will be in Virgil Rural Cemetery.
