Garry F. Billington

Garry F. Billington PHD of East Aurora and Ithaca, NY passed away in his sleep on September 23, 2024. Husband of Darryl (née Manley) and father of Julie Kuhlmann and B. Tate Billington (Amy Williams); grandfather of Brad and Chloie Kuhlmann; survived by many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Garry was a career educator, teacher, principal and superintendent in various districts in New York. At every level he was an advocate for students, especially those at risk. In his retirement he was an effective grant writer for The Children’s Recovery Center in Horry County, South Carolina.

Garry would be outdoors in the sunshine indulging in a fine cigar whenever he could. He was a Bills and Yankee’s fan. Above all he loved fishing. After returning to NY, he fished once or twice a week until the very end.

Garry wished to have no formal service, but a Celebration of Life or picnic may happen at a later date. Please consider a donation to The Children’s Recovery Center or an educational institution of your choice.
