Franklin G. Mott

FRANKLIN G. MOTT, age 73, of 69 West Groton Road, Groton, NY passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Cayuga Medical Center after a long illness. Franklin who was widely known as "Skip" was born November 9, 1934 in Ithaca a son of the late Harry and Ella Grover Mott. He received his education in Genoa and Groton High Schools and began his employment at Smith Corona where he worked until1970. Additionally operated and owned Mott Farms on West Groton Road. On August 1, 1959 he was married in Locke, NY to the former Barbara Hauck of Virgil, NY. Skip was a member of the Groton Odd Fellows Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and loved animals.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Hauck Mott of Groton, sons, Franklin G. Mott, Jr. and Rodney D. Mott both of Groton, daughters, Eva Marie (Kevin) Dann of Locke, Deborah (Rick) Satterly of Groton and Janet (Dave) O’Brien of Groton; grandchildren, Bruce, Skyler and Justin Mott, Zachary Weyant and Jake O’Brien, Tammy Dann, Tera Root, Tanya Bushnell, Jessica Weyant, Kristen Mott, Gabrielle and Erica Satterly; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jackson Mott, Kali Mott, Delaney Root, Destiny and Brock Bushnell; his beloved dog "Fiji"; brothers, Charles Mott of Locke, Francis Mott of Dryden; a sister, Elizabeth Combs of Groton; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Honoring Skip’s wishes no calling hours or funeral will be held. Those wishing to remember him are asked to consider a memorial to the Tompkins Co.
