Frank Lyman Sanford Jr.

Frank Lyman Sanford Jr. 74 of Dryden was born in Cortland NY on August 18, 1947 and passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at home.

Parents who predeceased him were Frank Lyman Sanford Sr. and Helen Greenwood Sanford, two sisters also predeceased him, Narin Sanford Prentice and Joanne Skehan Whetstone.

He is survived by his former wife, Sheila Sanford; his children, Teresa Sanford Cain, James (Sharon) and Steven Sanford, his five grandchildren, Tori and Taylor Cain, Alex and Johnny Sanford and Austin Davis; sister, Renee Skehan Bean and brother, Edward Skehan; nephew’s and a niece.

Frank attended St. Mary’s School, Cortland, NY and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966, Platoon 109 and was discharged with honors as a Corporal June 1970. He worked as a rural mail carrier for the Cortland Post Office for 32 years retiring in 2002.

Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, his antique cars and watching the Mets games while eating popcorn.
