Eleanor Matychak

Eleanor K. Matychak, age 86, formerly of Ithaca, NY passed away Jan. 5, 2010 at Elderwood Care Center, Waverly, NY after a period of declining health. Mrs. Matychak was born April 6, 1923 in Ithaca, NY a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Cecil (Casey) Keane. She was graduated from Newark Valley High School in 1939 and in May 1943 she was married to Sam Matychak. Eleanor was a secretary at Ithaca Gun Company for a few years until raising a family. Eleanor and Sam enjoyed 61 years together until his death in 2004. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and James Walle, Van Etten,

NY, Margaret and John Coyle, Vestal, NY and Lynda and Scott Reiss, New

Haven, VT,; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Matychak, Rochester, NY and daughter-in-law Katherine Matychak, Pittsford NY. Six grandchildren, Cameron

and Grace Matychak, Andrew and Patrick Coyle, Samantha and Jacqueline Reiss; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert F. and Beverly (Whittaker) Keane, of Canastota, NY. She was predeceased by her son Samuel Keane Matychak; her sisters, Alice Lyons, Helen Korherr, Jane Mulks, Doris Whittaker and Julia Keane; brothers, Thomas and Francis Keane.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Rhinehardt officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
