Edwin P. Kinsman

EDWIN P. “JACK” KINSMAN, age 73, of Freeville, NY passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at the Hospicare Residence, after a brief illness. “Jack” was born July 14, 1939 in Ithaca, NY a son of the late Edwin P. and Lauretta J. Hilker Kinsman and was a life area resident. On Oct. 25, 1957 he was married to the former Alice Kathleen Humphrey at Dryden.

Jack was employed for 28 years at Smith Corona and later for 16 years at the Town of Dryden and for 10 years as a substitute School Bus Driver for the Dryden Central School. He was a 54 year member of the Dryden Fire Dept. and served a number of years as an EMT and driver on the Dryden Fire Dept. Ambulance. Jack was also a member of the Stone Hedges Golf Course, Senior Bowling and Dryden Senior Citizens. He was an avid NY Yankee fan, loved to dance and watch all kinds of racing. He especially enjoyed supporting the local athletes and driving teams on the bus. He greatly enjoyed traveling with the Q-Country trips. Jack enjoyed time spent with family and friends, joking, smiling and loving life to the end.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Alice; his daughter, Tina M. Doll of Freeville and grandchildren, Maranda Kinsman of Lisle and Kevin P. “Zach” Kinsman of Hornell; great grandchildren, Gracie and C.J. Ellerson and Bonnie Kinsman; siblings, Dawn (Ed) Fuller of Newfield, Delores and Donna Kinsman of Ithaca, Jeff Kinsman of Ithaca and Jerry Kinsman of Cortland; in-laws, Arta Tarby, Leroy (Louise) Humphrey, Sandra Case, , Gregory (Susan) Humphrey, Marcia Wentworth; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin P. Kinsman and his sister, Deanna Rich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery.
