Duane Totman

Duane Totman, 54, passed away peacefully at Guthrie Cortland Nursing surrounded by family and many CNA’s and nursing staff, some of the best around and who treated him like family.

Duane suffered an aneurysm in 2010 which has taken a lot from him, but he worked hard, much like he did with his many outdoor jobs to get what he could out of life, living it to the fullest extent he could. Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley and his snowmobile. He had a great love for animals, even befriending those considered a lost cause.

Duane is predeceased by his father, Carl Totman, and his grandparents on both sides. He is survived by his loving mother, Judith Totman, also of Guthrie Nursing; his sister, Melissa (Richard) Schwenn; nephews, Skylar, and Jarod Schwenn of Harford. 

There will be a memorial service held 11:00AM, Jan. 3rd, 2026, at the Harmony Methodist Church in Harford, NY. Burial will be held later in the Spring.
