Donald Marsh

Donald Marsh, age 68, of Route 221, Marathon, NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

Born July 9, 1941 in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Gladys Ayers Marsh and Karl Allen. Don has lived his entire life on the farm, taking over operations from his parents and helping pass it along to his children. He was a former member of the NYS Draft Horse Assoc., Grange and a life member of Belgian Draft Horse Cooperation and American Lineback Assoc.

Mr. Marsh is survived by his children, John A. Marsh of Marathon, NY, David L. (Melissa) Marsh of Moravia, NY, Linda Brown of Gastonia, NC, Lisa (Timothy) Frost of Dryden, NY, Bruce V. Marsh of Dryden, NY, Jennifer S. Marsh of Cicero, NY and Benjamin F. (Kirsten) Marsh of Marathon, NY; grandchildren, Nathan, Amanda and Megan Marsh, Shawn, Ashleigh, Samuel, Jasmine and Malaki Brown, Timothy, Jr. and Aaron Frost, Bryce Marsh, Taylor, Shannon, Liam and Colin O’Hickey, Anne, Bryan and Emma Marsh; brother, Roger Marsh of Carthage, NY; cousin, Gordon (Deanna) Utter of Otego, NY; niece, Laurie, nephews, Richard and Fred Marsh. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother, Aaron Marsh.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Perkins Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Owens officiating. Burial will be in Virgil Rural Cemetery at a later date.
