Dennis Fogle Whittaker

Dennis Fogle Whittaker, born at home on 76 Road in the town of Caroline on May 25, 1942, the third son of the late Riley and Charlotte Whittaker, died January 14, 2026.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Robert. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Barbara and Diana of Florida, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Ithaca High School, Dennis was educated at Hobart College and Columbia University, earning his master’s degree in civil engineering. His career started working on the Apollo man on the moon program at Cape Canaveral, eventually retiring from IBM Endicott, working on environmental protection.

After leaving the corporate world, Dennis focused his efforts on cemetery restoration in Tioga and Tompkins Counties.
