Claudia Norton

Claudia Norton, age 72 of Cortland, New York.

The family of Claudia Norton sadly share news of her death on October 6, 2024
following a long illness. Preceded in death by son Jeremy James Vyskocil, husband
Gary Norton, parents Karl and Marjorie Miller and former husband Frederick Vyskocil.
She is survived by son Charles Vyskocil, grandsons CJ, Austin and Jesse Vyskocil,
sisters Cynthia Miller Cramsey and Susan Miller Strait, and several nieces and
nephews. She is also survived by her stepson Michael Norton, his 2 daughters, 4
stepdaughters, 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters as well as her stepdaughter Cyndi
and husband Gregg Bilhimer with 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. Mark and Stacy
and their children.

Born Claudia JoAnn Miller on January 29,1952 in Ithaca, she lived, worked and enjoyed
life in the area for much of her life. She met Gary Norton in a theater group in Moravia
and that changed both their lives. Together they were active in the Locke Fire
Department and other civic and church groups for many years. She was especially
enthusiastic about her work at the JM Murray Center and the folks she met there. Her
laugh and great kindness will be lovingly remembered by her family and many others
whose lives she touched.

A private burial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca, New York with Rev. Matthew Binkewicz officiating.

Arrangements by Perkins Funeral Home. Those who wish to are invited to honor her with a donation to
the JM Murray Center.
