Carol A. Hefner, 63 of Freeville, NY passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Born August 22, 1961 in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Janice Herrick Lewis. She had been employed with the Cortland County Department of Social Services and for the Dryden Central School District.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by the father of her children, James Edward Hefner III; and her sisters, Diana Toolan and Dorothy Kight.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Carol is survived by her daughters, Michelle Cortright, Clara Hefner, and Barb Alexander; her grandchildren, Zana Hamilton, Makenzie “Levi” Parks, Parker Hefner-Stamp, Harmony “Rae” Hefner, Malaki Hefner, Kyzrus Hefner, Ardarius Hefner, Gage Hinckley, Kaydin Hinckley, Jamon Alexander, Emzzo Alexander, Solara Alexander, Roman Alexander, and Crystal Lockwood; her great-grandchildren, De’Rias Mitchell, Xzavion Lockwood, Zole Eaton, and Zakariya Eaton; her siblings, Frank Lewis, Robert Lewis, Shirley Akins, Janice Singelton, Thelma, Richard Morris, and many other extended family members.
