Arnold Ferdinand Prince Jr. AKA Sonny (92) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Sonny was Born on July 7, 1934 to Grace and Arnold “Sparky”, and married the love of his life, Mary in 1954. Sonny is survived by his sons, Duane, Dale (Gina), Dean (Cindy), and Tommy (Katy), 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, special friends Whoopi and Melissa and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his daughter Brenda, daughter-in-law Rose, and daughter-in-law Jan, mother Grace, father Arnold, and sisters Edna and Rosemary.

A hard working man, Sonny retired from Consolidated Natural Gas - now Dominion known to friends and family as “the gas company” or “the plant” after 38 years of working there. He was so proud to see all of his sons retire from their jobs, two of them being from the same place he worked.

Sonny loved to hunt and fish and when his children were little would spend many weekends at Yellow Lake fishing and shooting snakes. Thanksgiving was always a time for hunting with family and friends, mainly on Hammond Hill.

He was proud of all of his sons for being in the military and attended their graduations and made it a point to visit his sons when they were stationed away from home.

Sonny spent many a day at local diners, especially Harris’ Diner in Owego and The Richford Diner now owned by his granddaughter Danielle where he would gather with friends and family and maybe even throw a creamer or two.

Sonny loved riding motorcycles with his sons and rode many miles with his wife on the back of his bike, eventually moving to a trike and was pretty proud of riding right up until he was 87 years young.

He was a good man who helped a lot of people in times of need. His home was a safe haven for many and a gathering place for all.

Sonny didn’t want a funeral, so there will be a graveside service at Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden, NY at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 23rd and a dish-to-pass celebration of life on October 24th at 1:00 pm on the hill at his son, Tommy’s house.
