Ann M. Garner met her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Born February 14, 1939 and raised in Marathon, NY where she graduated High School in 1958. A year later, Ann married her late husband John N. Garner in 1959. Ann graduated Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City in 1960 with a 2 year degree in Children's Ministry and worked for a local Insurance Company.
She was a gifted homemaker and also served as a church secretary and music teacher for the school. She was a Pastors wife and daycare provider. She taught JOY CLUB and AWANA for many years as well as junior church and Sunday school. After moving to Lake Wales, Florida she found her new home church to be Christ's Church On The Move. She enjoyed every service and when she physically could not attend she insisted on watching it online.
Her greatest passion was her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, for it is Jesus that forgave her of her sins and now has given her an eternal home in heaven. She read her Bible, prayed daily, and loved her family, home, and church. After her stroke in 2019, she enjoyed putting together puzzles and visiting with her dear friends.
She delighted in the time she got to spend with her family, and the memories that were made will be cherished by them forever.
Ann is predeceased by her parents, the late James Henry and Mary Louise Boice; her husband of 61 years, Rev. John Norman Garner; along with other family members and several brother and sister-in-laws.
Surviving Ann is her son, Andrew (Melanie) Garner; daughter, Dianne (Mike) Garner-Mooneyham; grandson, David Garner; brother, Tom (Sylvia) Boice; sister-in-law, Mary Garner; other family members, Paul (Liz) French; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and cousins.
It could be said that her hobby was people. She was a faithful wife and diligent mother and devoted grandmother. Through the years, family and friends loved to come to her home, attracted by her warm spirit. Those with a need knew they could count on her to pray for them. She had that beauty which is only achieved when the love of God flows through a person.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
