Adolphus Meadors,
age 89, of Homer, NY passed away Tuesday,
October 9, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY.Born March 11, 1923 in Homer, LA, he was the only child of the late Thomas and Vera Darrett Meadors.
He was employed as a Mason with the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union Local 17 of Ithaca, for 50 years, prior to retirement in 1993. On May 26, 1951 he married Shirley Smith, who survives. He had been involved with the Episcopal Church in Homer for many years.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, Mr. Meadors is survived by his son, Steve Odum of Ithaca, NY; two granddaughters, Joanee` Jenkins of St. Pete,
FL and Fenice Coleman of Ithaca, NY; great granddaughter, Raziah Cox
of Ithaca, NY; nephew, Jeffrey Smith of Homer, NY and several relatives
in California. In addition, Mr. Meadors was predeceased in 2005 by his daughter, Lenae Meadors Osterhoudt of Homer, NY.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Matthew P. Binkewicz officiating. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
